Abstract:
Since passage of the American Competitiveness and Corporate Accountability Act of 2002, better known as Sarbanes- Oxley Act, there has been much discussion in nonprofit circles about the need for similar rules to govern the operations of notfor- profit organizations. Adopted in the wake of the Enron, WorldCom, and other corporate scandals, the Act prescribes a variety of new governance standards, primarily for publicly held corporations. Keywords:
