Abstract: 

Sometimes it seems as if our tax law governing charities is so complicated that even a careful organization with management that tries to stay out of trouble can run afoul of one rule or another. A recent announcement by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (or HRMC, the British version of our IRS) shows that this might not be just an American phenomenon.
