Abstract:
Once a donation has been made, there is usually little one can do to alter either the donation or the tax consequences that follow. One exception to this principle is the “conduit election” which a private foundation may make to allow its donors a full fair market value deduction for any capital assets donated. Neither the Code nor the Regulations use the phrase “conduit foundation,” but it is certainly more succinct to describe it as such rather than using its full technical definition from IRC §170(b)(1)(F)(ii).Keywords:
