Abstract: 

The New Year is now well under way, and the usual year-end rush is behind us. Last year’s charitable contributions are made and we can look forward to getting a good start on our 2008 agenda. For family foundations, however, one important 2007 task may still remain incomplete, and that one that may be easily overlooked. All contributions made to the foundation during 2007 must be appropriately substantiated for tax purposes, and the donor’s deduction may be denied if this is not done and done in a timely fashion.
