Abstract:
Sometimes you read a court decision and wonder how the matter got so far along—why did the parties go to all the expense of litigating the issue in a court proceeding? Why wasn’t the matter settled before it went all the way to a written decision (with all the publicity that attends a published decision)? That is certainly true of the recent decision in Polm Family Foundation, Inc, v. United States and the Internal Revenue Service (Case # 1:08- cv-00514 (D.D.C.)).Keywords:
