Abstract: 

The Sex Offense Policy Research Workgroup (SOPR) is group of scholars focused on the study of sex offender legislation and its effectiveness. This article briefly introduces the goals and methods of SOPR in researching the impact of registration and notification law, residency restrictions, civil commitment, homelessness, employment, general consequences of sex offense policy for registrants and their family members, victimization, sex offender management, and sex offending recidivism. Lisa L. Sample is currently serving as president of Sex Offense Policy Research working group.
