Abstract: 

Author Shannon Archer is uniquely familiar with prosecuting domestic violence crimes due to her work as an assistant county attorney and her membership on the board of directors for the Iowa Coalition against Domestic Violence. Archer performs a case study on a domestic violence court case in Iowa, using the account to understand patterns of domestic abuse and court procedure in DV cases. Focus is placed on victim cooperation, hearsay, and comparable DV cases.
