Abstract: 

Thanks to education and awareness, elder abuse has gained increasing public attention in recent decades, but it remains a serious social problem and there is still a considerable need for additional education, awareness, and research. This article highlights the definition of elder abuse, the various types of such abuse—including physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, abandonment, and financial abuse—examines its prevalence and consequences, and explores various prevention strategies.
