Abstract:
Approximately 20% of school-age children experience serious emotional problems (Burns et al., 1995). This estimate is staggering, considering that children suffering from psychological problems are at greatest risk for falling behind and failing in school, having difficulty making and keeping friends, getting into trouble with the law and going to jail, abusing alcohol or drugs, and committing suicide. Even more concerning is the statistic that one of every three of these children is not identified (Burns et al., 1995; Leaf et al., 1996).Keywords:
