Abstract:
A roundtable discussion on the municipal market is moderated by senior research analyst Alan D. Polsky and includes representatives of the key industry constituencies, namely bond lawyer William L. Nelson, state bond finance director J. Ben Watkins III, municipal analyst representative Dina W. Kennedy, independent financial adviser Steve H. Larson, and the chairman of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, Robert A. Estrada. Following opening remarks on each party’s role in a bond transaction, two sets of questions focus the inquiry. The first discussion focuses on the role of the municipal analyst relative to the other market participants, and the second explores fair disclosure. This session offers a fascinating exchange on relevant topics facing all the parties in municipal bond financing. Keywords: Municipal Analyst; Underwriting; “Plain English” Official Statements
