Abstract: 

A panel discussion of disclosure issues in light of recent developments including the Investment Company Institute’s call for an MSRB to create a centralized disclosure site—controversial because we already have the nationally recognized municipal securities information repositories (NRMSIRs) set up; the National Federation of Municipal Analysts (NFMA) advocacy for more disclosure on IRS audits, echoed by the Government Finance Officers’ Association (GFOA) has taken a position on the IRS audits. And issues such as exploding opinions and bond counsel opinions, a central index to help centralize and categorize all the municipal issuers in the market, and the use of Web sites as a disclosure tool by issuers.
