Abstract:
The 2001 NFMA conference featured several panels on gaming. In the keynote address, Nevada State Treasurer Brian Kolicki reviewed the unique economic, social, demographic, resource, and political forces shaping the state, the unique demands these forces place on state and local government, and how Nevada finances its obligations in a gaming-based environment.Keywords: Gambling revenues; tourism economy; energy accounting; tobacco securitization; education funding.
