Abstract:
Changes are being made across tax, accounting, and legal disciplines in the wake of 2009’s economic instability. The author here looks at the good, the bad, and the ugly implications of these changes as they will impact banks and other financial institutions in 2010. This article address four key areas: federally assisted acquisitions of failed banks, tax implications of government-assisted loan modifications, executive compensation tax constraints, and taxpayer relief for COD income. Keywords:
