Abstract: 

In the Fall of 2022, California Governor Gavin Newsome signed into law the Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act (2022 Cal. Legis. Serv. Ch. 442) extending the 10-year statute of limitations under CCP ยง 340.16. to include sexual assaults that occurred before passage of CCP 340.16 in 2019. This article reviews the implications of this extension for victims of sexual assault covered by the law.
