Abstract:

VED Editor Note: This National Training Library was initiated in 2004 by the National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) under a grant to the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) from the U.S. Administration on Aging. The library, which has a collection of almost 200 training materials on APS and elder abuse, may be accessed through the NCEA website at www. ElderAbuseCenter.org. A descriptive index of materials is provided. Copies of the training materials may be ordered. The responses given to the library survey reveal information not only about the library, but also about the professionals who work with the elderly. The most significant piece of information is that the respondents were using the training material to develop their own training modules to improve their work (and that of their trainees) with their constituents. A follow-up survey would be helpful to learn more about what types of training materials they are developing and how effective the new training turned out to be. The article briefly summarizes the survey’s findings.
