Abstract: 

This research review summarizes the major findings and conclusions of the articles “Crossing the Line: Litigation of Elder Abuse Claims Hinges on the Distinction Between Professional Negligence and Actual Abuse”, by Bryan Carney , 30 Los Angeles Lawyer 42 (Oct. 2007), and “Practice Tips: Mandatory Reporting Requirements for Financial Elder Abuse”, by James P. Bessolo , 30 Los Angeles Lawyer 23 (Oct. 2007). These articles appeared in an issue of Los Angeles Lawyer, the magazine of the Los Angeles County Bar Association primarily devoted to issues of elder abuse.
