Elder Abuse and the Family

Abstract:
On June 18, 2008, via the collaborative effort of several organizations, a multidisciplinary conference was held at The New School Institute for Retired Professionals in New York City. The conference, entitled “Elder Abuse and the Family: Not a Private Matter,” was sponsored by the Jewish Agency for Services to the Aged (JASA), the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Center for Elder Abuse Prevention (Hebrew Home at Riverdale), the City of New York Department for the Aging and its Human Resources Administration, the Carter Burden Center for the Aging, and the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service.
