Abstract:
The AARP Public Policy Institute and the National Consumers League held a forum in Washington, DC, on October 22, 2009, entitled “Protecting Your Home, Car and Retirement Savings: How Consumers and Policy Makers Can Stop Financial Fraud.” According to Jane King of the National Consumers League (NCL), the League’s fraud information website gets 1.3 million visits per year. NCL’s Fraud Center performs consumer education, collects complaints, and forwards them to the correct law enforcement agency.
