Abstract: 

Nursing home residents are an exceptionally vulnerable group. Most of them have cognitive deficiencies and are physically weak. Many of them have been placed in nursing homes precisely because there is no one available to care for them anywhere else. This article covers some recent developments, including new federal requirements for civil penalties and the growing problem of social media abuse of nursing home residents.
