Abstract:
The Maryland Department of Juvenile Justice offered a program that serves adjudicated delinquent youth who are assigned to a day treatment program in Baltimore City. The program was designed to provide the youth with an intense 16-week introductory core curriculum to the construction trades. The primary goal of the program was to provide the youth with enough developmental skills so that they could obtain meaningful employment in the construction industry once they had met their legal obligations to the day treatment program.
