Abstract: 

In this article, the authors illustrate how the organizational field of corrections has missed the essence of evidence based practice (EBP) by presenting the history of EBP in the medical field (the paradigm’s origin), highlighting observations of EBP in the correctional system, and explaining what must be done to effectively implement EBP and achieve the maximum results of this paradigm.
