Abstract:
This issue reviews two cases: A Mississippi State inmate challenges his classification and segregation resulting in a string of transfers and leaving the appellate court unable to determine if his punishment had been atypical, an observant Muslim seeks to be exempt from TDCJ grooming policy prohibited beards, and its religious headwear policy so he may grow a beard and wear a a knit skullcap as required by his religious beliefs.Keywords: Wilkerson v.
