Abstract:

Our regular review of the research literature includes a summary of an evaluation done by the authors of New Jersey’s substance abuse halfway house system (SAHWH) to assess whether these transitional substance abuse treatment services and interventions have an impact on recidivism and the offenders’ ability to successfully reintegrate back into the community after release. Reviews include: “Predicting Success in Residential Substance Abuse Interventions: New Jersey’s Pre-Release Incarceration Alternatives” by Ming-Li Hsieh and Zachary Hamilton 27(2) published in Criminal Justice Policy Review (2016) 182–202.
