Abstract:
Nowadays, gender-specific programming generally refers to interventions that are organized and implemented along lines that fi t within the character and nature of female offenders. A long laundry list of traits fi tting within such a categorization has been promulgated by sociocultural arguments and evidence-based research for more than a decade. Not all criminologists agree that gender-specific interventions are quite as effective (or as meaningful) as their advocates suggest. Keywords: women in a residential reentry program; stigma of dependent women; ongoing process evaluation
