Abstract:

Bizarre behavior and subsquent suicide lead an inmate\'s survivors to file suit alleging inadequate supervision and screening; inadequate training as well as faulty policy and procedures related to mentally ill and suicidal inmates. The expert testimony from an forensic psychiatrist and an institution physician, for the plaintiff and defendant respectively, make for an informative discussion on the scope of expert testimony in a correctional mental health care case.
