Abstract: 

In United States v. Wilbourn, ___F.3d ___ (7th cir. 2015), a case of first impression for the Seventh Circuit, Judge Richard Posner upholds the trial judge who imposed a significant sentencing enhancement after finding that a bank robbery defendant’s claim of incompetence was so far-fetched and factually deficient as to constitute the willful obstruction of justice in an effort to delay or derail prosecution.
