Abstract:

Christopher Pyles, an inmate at Illinois’s decaying Menard prison, raises some interesting legal claims related to his charge that Menard needlessly, regularly and excessively used prison lockdowns. Pyles claims that the lockdowns damaged his mental health. His case, Pyles v. Spiller, 2017 WL 3772949 (7th Cir.), fails because of evidence insufficiency, and not because there may not be merit to his claims.
