Abstract: 

In addition to the articles listed in the contents above, this issue also includes briefer summarizes of recent judicial findings related to compliance with court orders in Coleman v. Brown in California; a Monell-rule judgment of no deliberate indifference in Heywood v. Wexford Health Sources; an opinion in Braggs v. Dunn, 2017 WL 426875 (M.D. Ala.), addressing the question of whether certain documents produced by MHM Correctional Services, Inc. (MHM), the contractor for ADOC’s mental health care, are admissible under the business records exception to the rule against hearsay; and the Supreme Court’s ruling in Moore v. Texas, 137 S.Ct. 1039 (2017)that the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals (CCA) used outdated medical standards that create an unacceptable risk that a prisoner with intellectual disabilities will be executed.
