Abstract:
Chronic truancy is the gateway to dropping out of high school and the beginning of serious criminal activity. As proof, one has only to look at the percentage of U.S. inmates without high school diplomas compared to the U.S. population as a whole, as tabulated here. This article discusses EM as a means of dealing with this problem. Accompanying this article are three case studies from Bryan Adams High School, Dallas TX.Keywords: juvenile crime hours; truancy workshops; Kings County, Washington
