Abstract:
Underage drinking is a problem that touches all families—whether directly or indirectly. Alcohol use is the number one youth drug problem in our country, killing 6.5 times more young people than all other illicit drugs combined. Despite the fact that about 10 million current drinkers range in age from 12 to 20 years, America has not placed a priority on addressing the biggest drug problem facing our children. This article looks at various approaches, programs, and research studies that deal with underage drinking. Keywords: Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD); National Institutes of Health (NIH); Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP); National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA); Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administratio
