Abstract: 

DWI incidents are New York’s unheralded public health emergency. Unfortunately, this is a nationwide problem, and, no matter where you live, you and your family are vulnerable. New York, which has always considered itself tough on DWI, never realized the extent or frequency of drunk-driving incidents within its borders. This article presents statistics on the matter and addresses deaths that have occurred as a result of this problem.
