Abstract:
DUI/DWI offender populations are composed of a variety of individuals with varying levels of problems and differing probabilities of reoffending. Several predictors for DUI/DWI recidivism are associable with alcohol dependence. Higher BAC at the time of arrest may indicate alcohol tolerance, one criterion of alcohol dependence, and has been associated with greater risk of reoffense. This article looks at alcohol abuse and dependence and the role they play in drunk driving.Keywords: Triage Assessment for Addictive Disorders (TAAD); American Psychiatric Association;
