Abstract:

Teens and young adults are turning to unauthorized prescription medication use to do what young people have always done—escape the pressures of increased responsibilities and medicate their exponential increase in self-consciousness. Peer pressures and the desire to be accepted, mixed with genetic inclinations, combined with natural curiosity and a desire to experience new things, can lead to catastrophic consequences. This article focuses on prevention, statistics, and how it affects driving.
