Abstract: 

This article discusses the “Serial Inebriate Program” (SIP) in San Diego and its subsequent impact on the use of medical resources such as EMS agencies, hospital emergency departments (EDs), and inpatient hospital wards. It also discusses medical issues such as a new driver responsibility law in Georgia, the injuries that can be caused by seatbelt nonuse, alcoholics’ susceptibility to infection, the effects of alcohol ads, and brief interventions at Emergency Departments.
