Abstract: 

Mileposts is our regular summary of important developments and new trends in driving safety. This issue examines two recent fatal car accidents that occurred on college campuses; Pope Francis and carbon reduction; the possible impact of the Ferguson Effect in leading to less proactive traffic enforcement; Volkswagen in turmoil; the possible use of Xenon gas in erasing traumatic memories as a way to prevent PTSD after a traumatic event; and the Minneapolis Police Department policy allowing public access to its online crime map.
