Abstract:
For decades, student affairs professionals, campus safety advocates, students, parents, legal advisors, and governmental representatives have struggled to reach consensus about whether campus judicial affairs should be “legal and punitive” or “developmental.” This article argues why the judicial affairs on campus should be developmental rather than strictly punitive and how education and self improvement are important at a school.Keywords: American College Personnel Association; From Discipline to Development;
