Abstract:

A marching band member is fatally wounded from a long-standing tradition known as “Crossing Bus C”, which includes slapping, kicking, and punching. Martin was the “president” of Bus C, which meant that he was the one who decided when and how people would be subjected to this ritual. After being charged with manslaughter and several counts of hazing Martin argues that Florida’s hazing statute is constitutionally flawed as a result of its being overbroad and vague.
