Abstract: 

Jason Ray Brown, age 26, died while confined in the Wichita County, Texas jail. His death was needless and tragic. Dr. Daniel Bolin, under contract with the jail to provide medical care and supervise the nursing staff, is the central defendant in this appeal. Dr. Bolin successfully dons the cloak of qualifi ed immunity and manages to fend off liability. The author reviews the facts and then provides an analysis of the majority’s views on deliberate indifference and medical malfeasance.
