Abstract:
This article describes the author's program for introducing peer-based preventive medicine in correctional institutions. This program, which can be tailored to an institution’s needs, can reduce health care costs incurred by inmates inside the institution and, after they are released, outside in the community. It can also help inmates see that they can turn their lives in a positive direction. Keywords: nutrition, fitness, lifestyle, weight
