Abstract:
The highly acclaimed and widely followed National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) Standards for Health Services in Jails has just completed their much anticipated update. A distinguished panel of jail medical and administrative experts completed the twoyear long process after soliciting comments from the field, reviewing contemporary community medical practices, and studying recent legal rulings on the constitutional requirements for jail health care.
