Abstract: 

The argument is made that the field of Corrections will move from the “anecdotal” to the “empirical” with the adoption of measurable and objective performance indicators. Management Information Systems and Strategic Support Systems are explained and illustrated. The T.E.A.M.S. model with the companion Monthly Indicator Report, as utilized by the New Jersey Department of Corrections is presented. Areas of research are proposed.
